What an amazing week we had for Bobbi Jo and Kurt's destination wedding in Bucerias, Mexico! Before the wedding we spent a few days exploring the area, eating, shopping, pampering and soaking up the sun with a group of good friends. What a horrible winter we have had so far here in Medicine Hat! We were lucky enough to stumble upon warm temperatures for a few days and the Graham family just happened to have their session booked on that day! It was a windy day, but we found shelter and had a blast together (proof that family photos in the winter can still be loads of fun)! This family reminded me why I love capturing families! It was so nice to once again have my clients come open minded, relaxed and ready to love and laugh together! Hello everyone, it has been a while since I have posted on here! I hope you all had wonderful Christmas and that 2011 is off to a good start! I am now officially done my break and back to work! Those of you waiting for a response regarding sessions, I will be sending out my new pricing and availability shortly. I have most of the summer booked already with weddings and there are limited spots available for all other sessions. In order to keep my sanity and focus on the most important things in my life, I have decided to cut back on sessions and focus mainly on my wedding clients. It has been a hard decision, but family comes first (but no worries, there are plenty of spots available still)! Thank-you in advance for your understanding! I am looking forward to working with all of my 2011 clients (new and old)!

Now, on to the wedding post! We have had some pretty nasty weather lately and the day of Joel and Amber's wedding was no exception! What a blessing that everyone arrived safely in the blizzard and that we had no accidents driving around for portraits! The beautiful wedding ceremony was held here in Medicine Hat at the Medicine Hat Lodge. The bride looked stunning and was a trooper with her broken leg and cast! What an amazing feeling to witness two people so in love be joined as one... I will never get tired of doing this! Thanks for being such wonderful clients!

Despite the blizzard at hand, we decided to tackle the weather for Joel and Amber's wedding portraits... for about 5 minutes. haha!I was even freezing, so I can only imagine how the girls in their sleeveless dresses felt! And its a miracle the limo didn't get stuck in all the snow (I had worries about even getting out of my own driveway to get to the ceremony!). Oh my GOSH... can you say ADORABLE!? I am in love with these kids (and their Mom and Dad are pretty cool too)! They handled the cold temps and snow dives like champions... having mint lollipops and hot cocoa successfully distracted them! Teeth were chattering and noses were running, but they handled it so well (they may have even had a little bit of fun?haha). We were lucky to have sun and mild(ish) temperatures for Ben and Leanna's wedding day. I think I even started to sweat while shooting a tiny bit... in my heavy duty winter parka ;-) The girls handled it so gracefully and we had a great time shooting their portraits (well at least I was having fun!). haha!

They're baaack, and this time they brought more family members! This truly was a "all in one" photo shoot... grandparents, kids, families, couples... you name it, we did it! And we had FUN! I have been looking forward to this wedding since I met this couple back in January! I had such a wonderful time with them at their engagement session and their wedding day proved to be even more enjoyable!
At times, I am know they wondered if things would work out with the flooding in Kin Coulee... but God was looking out for them and everything came together just right!
I fell in love with the bride's lace dress, the boys brown tux's, the girls soft coral dresses, the maid of honor's hair, the tea cup reception favours, their game of crouquet with the bridal party... this list could go on and on! Their outdoor ceremony and reception location made for a very calm and enjoyable day! So many beautiful moments... these two obviously adore each other! Their friends and family obviously adore them as well (who wouldn't)! I couldn't have asked for a more delightful wedding couple, bridal party and family!
Thanks for letting me be a part of such a beautiful occasion! Getting to know you and your story has truly been a blessing!

The day before this wedding I drove up to Saskatchewan in a torrential rain fall and while I pumped gas into my car I wished I had brought mittens. It didn't look good for the next day... we were all a bit nervous. It rained all night and all morning.... luckily it died off a bit in the afternoon. I tortured family and bridal party members in the chilly, wet and windy weather =) sorry! Just as we were finishing up the portraits, the sun came out and the rain stopped (go figure). Despite our luck we found shelter in the high school and under the trees and ended up getting a lot of fantastic photos! Thanks for being such good sports Wasyl and Chrystal! A couple of weekends ago I traveled to Saskatchewan for a very special wedding. A couple of years back I witnessed (and photographed) Wasyl's proposal to his then girlfriend Chrystal. She was completely surprised and it was exhilarating to be able to experience such a joyful event!
Fast forward two years and they were married... and what an event it was! We battled some cold, rainy weather... but everything worked out great! I loved her choice of colors and details. Oh and did I mention that the food was delicious... mmm must attend more Ukranian weddings!

That's right... for those who didn't believe me, I really do have a brother and his name is Matt! It seems like it has been forever since I have last seen him as he is living out east in Nova Scotia. He was back home for a friend's wedding in Saskatchewan and stopped by shortly to visit!
